Arnie the Armadillo. Brownie the Bear. Osita the pink bear. Henry the white bear. And Jelly the white bunny. Our family’s lovies in order from my husband down to my 1 year old.
To be fair, my husband doesn’t actually sleep with his armadillo anymore. But the younger three absolutely do. And if one goes missing, the world will not sleep. Which is why we love the ridiculously relatable story of Knuffle Bunny!

The Magik Theatre’s latest show “Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical” is a hilarious, heartwarming adaptation of the beloved Caldecott Honor-winning picture book by Mo Willems.
Knuffle Bunny tells the story of Trixie, her father, and her favorite stuffed bunny who take a trip to the laundromat. What would be an ordinary afternoon turns into a minor catastrophe when Knuffle Bunny goes missing.
True-to-life geeky dad dance moves, a moving ballad sung entirely in baby talk, and giant dancing underwear make this show a laugh-out-loud affair that our whole family thoroughly enjoyed.
My 6 year old has been singing lines from the song for a week now, and the book has been read on repeat at our house. And isn’t that what every parent wants? What a gift to see our children enjoy reading and be immersed in their own imagination.
Children’s theater is a rare art, and we are so lucky to have such a treasure in San Antonio with the Magik Theatre. They brings children’s books to life on stage in extraordinary shows that kids from 0-99 are sure to enjoy. We’ve been attending shows at the Magik Theatre for years and have never been disappointed.
With all of the recent additions at Hemisfair Plaza including the amazing Yanaguana Gardens, you can make a whole day out of a trip to the theater. There is so much to see and do!
Even though it’s technically still winter, we enjoyed the splash pad and sand box and playing on the playground at the park. Don’t worry, we brought a change of clothes!
