The holidays have officially begun and I’m finding it harder to remember to take my camera out to take real pictures and not just use my phone. So while I might not have perfect photos of Thanksgiving festivities, I assure you the turkey and pie were delicious!

Day 43: Uncle Tristan
Uncle Tristan, a working nomad who we rarely get to see, stopped by for a visit today- the first in almost 2 years.

Day 44: Tired
This trooper didn’t get to go to bed until 10 p.m. Traveling to Houston meant I forgot to take my picture all day so this late night capture will have to do.

Day 45: Cousins
Gabriella and Mikayla coloring together on Thanksgiving morning.

Day 46: The mending
Brian’s grandma Dorothy’s sewing table mid-mending.

Day 47: Christmas tradition
My family has a tradition of saving the bottom of every live Christmas tree and marking it with the names of those in the family. This is from 1984 when I was about 6 months old, marked in my mom’s handwriting that looks exactly the same 30 years later.

Day 48: Golden fields
I read somewhere recently that if you want to take beautiful photos in golden fields like the awesome photographers do that you have to get off your butt and find a golden field. I found one, and it was lovely.

Day 49: December
Why hello, December. I’ve been waiting for you all year long.
