After my daughter was born and has grown into my mini-me, I assumed any future children would also take after me with dark hair, dark eyes and a year-round golden tan, but I was wrong! Somehow, Preston grew these signature blond, curly locks that spark conversation and inspire smiles everywhere we go. The wonder of his curls doesn’t get old; I’m amazed every day at them!
I’d love to let the curls grow forever, but a practical issues kept popping up that meant we needed to get a haircut. First, his hair would get matted in the back and take some serious work with conditioner and a wide tooth comb to get out. Then, it started to get so long it was getting in his eyes. And finally, though I know it doesn’t really matter, when more strangers started thinking he was a girl than a boy, I knew it was finally time for a cut.
We went back to the same kids salon we went to for Gabriella’s first haircut and they did an excellent job. Preston is so easy going that I wasn’t worried about him at all and just like I expected, he sat and smiled through his whole haircut without an issue. I was so nervous that his curls would disappear as so many people have told me that their kids’ curls were gone after the first haircut. But, he definitely still has plenty of curls!
