The master bedroom should be your favorite place in the house. Our purple and white master bedroom with a bit of sparkle is the perfect combination for a sophisticated yet comfortable space to unwind after a long day.
I’m wrangling kids and tending to everyone else’s needs all day long, so having a space that is just for me and my husband is so nice.
When we downsized houses and had a smaller master bedroom to work with, I knew I wanted to do a stencil wall as the focal point.
Metallic Stencil Wall
Our previous bedroom had some purple accents so I continued that theme by doing a purple base paint and then a metallic silver paint on top.
We tried a few samples of purple paint and decided on this subtle, medium shade of purple- Dreams in Purple by Valspar.
For the metallic paint, we used this Devine Color Metallic paint in Sterling from Target. We used two quarts of this paint for the project.
The stencil is a trellis pattern wall stencil like this. I ordered a stencil kit with a round brush, foam roller, and clip on leveler which were essential for the project.
We were in the middle of a whole house renovation with a 4 year old and an 18 month old so I had one of our contractors do the stencil painting. It’s not a hard job, but it is slooooooow going and tedious.
The Finished Product
The end result was totally worth it though! The hint of purple and the metallic shimmer made this a perfect combo for me.
